My Photography Journey

Hello, I'm so glad you're here to learn more about me and my passion for photography. My name is Jonathan, and since 2021, I’ve dedicated myself to photography—a journey that started in the beautiful landscapes of Scotland and the Highlands. It all began during my wild snorkeling adventures, where I discovered my love for capturing the world around me. From using a GoPro underwater to flying a drone high in the sky, my work spans a wide range of subjects and styles. Photography isn’t just a job or hobby for me—it’s my way of life.

In 2018, I wasn’t in the best place in life. There was a lot going on, so I packed my bags and headed to Scotland. I spent two months hitchhiking, wild camping, fishing, and pitching my tent wherever I could. I met some amazing people from all over the world, and every single person greeted me with kindness. One day, I’d be in the middle of nowhere, soaked through from heavy rain and bitten by bugs, far from human life, and the next, I’d be in a stranger’s home, eating a hot meal and feeling incredibly welcomed. This journey taught me a lot about myself—about resilience, stepping out of my comfort zone, and appreciating the simplest things, like a light switch, running water, and a comfy bed. It also brought me closer to my family and completely changed my perspective on life.

In 2022, I built myself a small camper van and spent over a year traveling across the UK. From Scotland’s outer Hebrides to the east and south coasts of England, and all the way through Wales, I explored every corner I could. Some days were challenging, but they were also exciting. I met new people, learned new skills, and discovered incredible places. These experiences shaped who I am today and continue to inspire my photography.

My Style

As a photographer, I thrive on capturing the raw emotions and authentic beauty of my subjects. Whether it's a breathtaking landscape, a candid portrait, or a bustling cityscape, I aim to convey a sense of intimacy and connection through my work. I adore playing with natural light and shadow, embracing the imperfections that make each moment unique.

What Drives Me

For me, photography is a powerful medium for storytelling. Each click of the shutter allows me to preserve fleeting moments and immortalize them in a frame. I find inspiration in the diversity of the world around me – from the smallest details in nature to the grandeur of human expression. Every photo I take carries a piece of my heart and a tale waiting to be told.
